Before events, we'll be spotlighting our partners and giving you an in-depth look at what's ahead. This week, we're in Good Company with Carla Garcia, of Finding Paz.

Hi In-Betweeners,

Strap in! A total solar eclipse in Leo ♌ is landing August 12th, and eclipses bring the drama.

Astrologers are calling this one a big one: less about deciding what to do next, more about noticing where you've been playing small or putting everyone else's needs ahead of your own. An idea I think a lot of us can identify with. The energy starts building before it, which is exactly why we're gathering four days early, on August 8th — to sit in it together before it peaks, instead of scrambling to make sense of it alone after.

solar eclipse + sound journey — august 8

As many of us navigate the soupy middle, we're re-examining our relationship to ourselves and to others. Staying close to people we love can't come at the expense of our own wants and needs. On August 8, we'll make space to loosen our grip on the masks we wear for others, the need for their approval, and the pride that gets in the way of real connection.

We'll reflect both individually and as a group: a dedicated space to sit with what's been on your mind, and say it out loud to people who are genuinely listening. Then we let it settle into the body — Carla's sound journey gives your nervous system somewhere to put everything you just named, instead of carrying it home with you.

about Carla

Carla Garcia is a licensed therapist and the founder of Finding Paz. She's a native Angeleno who’s deeply into nervous system healing and the mind-body connection, and genuinely gifted at creating spaces where people can slow down without being told to "just relax" (bc we all know that does NOT work and sometimes enrages us further!). Her sound journeys blend mindfulness and somatic work to help you regulate, release, and come back to something like calm — not by pushing past what you're feeling, but just by sitting with it all.

before you go, let’s check in with the group chat:

This is us being together in the soupy middle: not alone, not rushed, just show up as you are as we're all mid-figure-out.

See you there,

Lauren
